Hello Fediverse.
My name is Sacha and I am a comic artist based in Gatineau, QuΓ©bec.

My current comic project is a long term series called Seeds of Spring, with the writer Chris Coquard. It's based on the true story of Peter Kropotkin, the former russian aristocrat who abandonned his noble titles to become a famous scientist and anarchist thinker, told through the perspective if a modern day, Mi'kmaq teenager named Naguset. Seeds of Spring is comic book version of the biography of Peter Kropotkin. A Russian anarchist who abandoned his noble birth to become a scientist and revolutionary, told from the perspective of Naguset, indigenous teen, reading his biography during a particularly rough year in her life. In many ways, Kropotkin’s life parallels her own experiences.

Seeds of Spring Update:

This is something I have wanted to do for quite a while now. Seeds of spring 1: The prince and the birch tree, is now available to buy as a PDF on my Ko-Fi.

"The Prince & the Birch Tree" is the first comic in the 15-part Seeds of Spring series.

In this innovative serial graphic novel, Naguset, a modern Canadian Mi'kmaq teenager, exchanges books and mix tapes with her pen pal, Chris. Her imagination sparks when he sends her a biography of the 19th century Russian anarchist Peter Kropotkin. The story juxtaposes Naguset's personal and political coming-of-age in her loving family home with Kropotkin's rocky upbringing in a princely palace. These two stories of eventful lives and bold hearts are interwoven with Kropotkin's theories of freedom, Mi'kmaq vocabulary and social history, and an uplifting punk soundtrack, creating a unique reading experience bound to inspire readers to think in new ways about the issues of our time.

I will be uploading books 2-3-4 and 5 shortly.

Seeds of Spring #6: The Principle of Common Understanding

The synopsis reads as follows:

In a boat on a serene lake, Naguset and Mandy discuss their futures and their mothers. Later, they dance away their troubles. Peter, stymied by bureaucracy heads even further east to conduct a survey of Manchuria. His new beard creates welcome moment of levity before he has to deal with a disaster that makes him question his life choices. He takes charge of what he can, crystallizing his principles about leadership and community.

It's already Portfolio Day once again.

Hello everyone. My name is Sacha. I am a comic artist from QuΓ©bec. I am currently illustrating a historical YA comic series called Seeds of Spring about the life of the famous russian revolutionary and philosopher Peter Kropotkin, seen through the eyes of a current day indiginous teenager from Nova Scotia. Our fifth book was nomnicated for best Canadian independant comic in the Sequential Magazine awards for 2023 and book 6 will be available in stores any day now.

I am also collaborating with a startup game studio from Laval on a really fun indy game, however I can't really show anything for that yet (even though I cheated a few times)

And finally, I am actively taking commissions for DnD and TTRPG characters, since fantasy art is what I love doing best.
